Info. . .

Running Rock is home to over four miles of trails and quiet walkways, but what makes this property extra special is its views, cascades, and landmarks. With every trail, you'll fall deeper in love with what the Smokies have to offer on this private piece of land. Many of our trails connect with one another and have several trailheads depending on one's eagerness so that everyone can have a truly personal hiking experience.

Hellbender Cascades

"One of the Smokies' great cascades..."

Hellbender is an unusual sight outside the Park. Hidden inside Running Rock's very own temperate rainforest is this 80-foot gem. The quarter mile hike up to its base is a feast for the eyes, all manner of ferns and other flora thrive in this gorge.

Smelcer Hollow

"This old farm has new life"

Farmed more than 75 years ago, nothing says Appalachia like an old cabin in a narrow hollow. Wildflowers and Laurel Creek make this an outdoor lover's perfect place.
